The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce, NACC has announced a collaborative programme with facebook designed to develop about 50 SMEs in Lagos State.

The communications Executive of NACC, Ebuka Ugochukwu who disclosed this in a report on Monday said, NACC in partnership with Facebook would trian 50 SME’s participants from various sectors of its values chain in State.
He explained that it is important that the chamber should include SMEs in its business model.
“We have come to understand that SMEs are the backbone of any economy.
“We do expect that as these businesses grow, they will be able to contribute more to the economy and leverage the connections and opportunities that we provide them to scale up,’’ he said.
It can be recalled that what brought Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO to Nigeria in 2016 was basically because he wants to observe how Facebook could strengthen SME’s in the country.
The report added that the objective is in consonance with the chamber’s commitment to empower businesses with digital skills to grow, manage their brands and increase revenue, amongst others.
The statement added that the training was still ongoing; that its first phase had just been concluded, and the advanced stages of the training would continue soon.
