Serie A Round 17 Preview: Juventus Meet AS Roma In Latest Title Test

Meanwhile, AC Milan welcome Fiorentina to the San Siro while city rivals Inter travel to struggling Chievo
The 16th round of action in Italy’s Series A will see all 20 teams take to the field this coming Saturday (22 December). And there are some truly mouth-watering ties, with defending champions and current table toppers Juventus hosting AS Roma, AC Milan looking to cut the gap to the top three at the expense of Fiorentina and Inter hoping to make up lost round in the title race when they head to Chievo.

First up, the meeting between AC Milan and Fiorentina at the San Siro. Milan have not won any of their last three games across all competitions, scoring just one goal in the process, and as a result sit five points city rivals Inter in third place.
Fiorentina, by way of comparison, are down in 10th, although they could jump as high as fifth with victory this weekend, depending on how other results go. The Viola are unbeaten in their last two league outings, comfortable seeing off Empoli 3-1 last time out.
Yet it is home side Milan who come in as the favourites to get back to winning ways. You can more than double your money by backing the Rossonerito take the points at 2.10, with Fiorentina out at 3.50 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 3.25, according to Oddsshark.
And we are expecting Fiorentina to snatch victory. A narrow, 1-0 win for the visitors is priced competitively at 11.00, thereby offering more than a ten-fold return on any investment, while you could double your money by backing a “No” to both teams scoring at 2.00.
Inter should make short work of Chievo
Meanwhile, Inter are away to bottom club Chievo in desperate need of a win. Chievo are yet to win this season and looked destined for the drop – anything less than three points for the away side would be seen as disastrous.
Consistency has blighted Inter’s domestic campaign, and as such they now sit a huge 14 points behind leaders Juventus. While the title may well be out of their grasp they will still want to overhaul Napoli in second.
And it is indeed Inter who come into this match as the overwhelming favourites to take all three points. You can back the visitors to pick up the win at just 1.40, with Chievo out at 8.50 to record their first league win of the season – a draw is priced in the middle at 4.30.
Inter should win this one with relative ease. A comfortable, 2-0 win for the Nerazzurri comes in at 6.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$30 pay out, while you could more than double your money by backing a combo bet of an Inter win, coupled with a “No” to both teams scoring, at 2.05.
Juventus could extend lead at top
And finally, Juventus host AS Roma looking to extend their lead at the top of the table. The Old Lady have dropped just two points all season, are scoring over two goals per game while leaking just eight in 16 games.
Roma, like Inter, have struggled for consistency, and are down in seventh after four defeats already this season. They are, however, unbeaten in their last three league encounters, although two of those matches ended in a draw.
And it is of little surprise to see Juventus coming in as the clear favourites to win yet again. The Old Lady are at just 1.40 to collect another three points, while Roma are out at 8.00 to record what would be a shock win – a draw is priced in the middle at 4.50.
This should be a further three points for the champions. A 2-1 victory for the Old Lady comes in at 8.50, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$42.50 pay out, while you could more than double your money by backing both teams to score, which is priced at 2.05.
