SUPER FALCONS THRASH ROMANIAN LADIES 4-1 TO CLINCH THIRD PLACE IN CHINA
Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Sunday bounced back from opening game defeat to China as they thrashed Romania 4-1 in the third place match of the 4-Nation Invitational Tournament in China which came to an end on Sunday.
The Thomas Dennerby’s girls shot into the lead through Chiwendu Ihezuo in the 44th minute, before the Romanians leveled proceeding in the 55th minute.
Vice captain Rita Chikwelu restored Nigeria’s lead in the 59th minutes before Chinese based Falcons captain, Onome Ebi restored Nigeria‘s lead in the 66th minute with a powerful header.
Brighton and Hove Albino’s Ini Umutong netted the 4th goal in the 83rd minute which sealed the game for the Falcons.
The Falcons will now continue their preparation for the World Cup as they depart China for Cyprus Women Cup starting from February 27th, 2019.
