LAGOS CITY MARATHON: YOUNG MAN STEALS THE SHOW IN A-MINUTE PERFORMANCE THAT EARNED HIM N2.5M FROM GOV AMBODE

As over 100,000 participants at the just concluded Lagos city marathon were romancing their medals as their only consolidation, the annual event took an unusual turn.
Nigerian celebrity artiste, D’Banj while performing, in an unscripted manner, gave a young man, identified as David Joseph, among the cheerers, an opportunity to use the mic for 1 minute and the stage suddenly became a talent hunt platform, as the unknown guy dazzled not just the massive crowd but also the Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, who immediately gifted him with N2.5 million and handed him over to D’Banj for a mentorship programme.

The Governor said this is to show all Nigerian Lagos youths that, Lagos is a place that provides opportunity for every young person to shine.

He therefore advised the youths to make sure they always prepared for opportunities. He further appreciated “The Kokomaster” for discovering such gift in an unconventional manner.

Expressing his gratitude to both the governor and D’Banj, David said he would never forget today in his life.

D’Banj immediately gave him a stage name, DeeJay right there.
The Lagos city marathon 2019, which was star studded also saw comedian Helen Paul, TV host, Yemi Shodimu, Actor, Odunlade Adekola, a list Nigerian artistes, Olamide, CDQ, Teni Entertainer, entertaining the audience
