BORN TODAY: MEET ‘MADAM SAJE’ WHO FELL IN LOVE WITH HER BOSS TO BECOME FAMOUS

When it comes to the Nigerian movie industry, the name “Madam Saje” does not just ring a bell, it is a household name that breaks into the limelight in the early 1990s.
Originally known as Fausat Balogun, Madam Saje was born on the 13th of February, 1959 and lives in Ifelodun area of Kwara State.
She was introduced into the industry, by her boss, actor Rafiu Balogun, who later became her heartthrob.
She is one of the veterans who became popular in the industry at a relatively old age. By the time she was famous her children were adults. Her eldest son is a director and her youngest daughter is an actress.
Her nickname was bestowed on her after she starred in Erin Kee Ke as “Madam Saje” in 1990. Today, Mrs Balogun has starred in over 80 Yoruba movies.
During the 2016 edition of the City People Entertainment Awards, she was bestowed a Special Recognition Award for her “remarkable contributions to the growth of the movie industry in Nigeria”.
