Iwobi scores first UCL goal as Iheanacho rescues Manchester City

Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi scored his first ever UEFA Champions League goal and his first goal of the season as Arsenal thrashed Basel 4-1 away in a Group A matchday 6 clash on Tuesday.
Summer signing Lucas Perez grabbed a hat-trick in his first Champions League start for Arsenal.

Iwobi scored in the 53rd minute to make it 4-0 in favour of Arsenal.
Cote d’Ivoire’s forward Seydou Doumbia scored Basel’s only goal.
The win means Arsenal finished top of the Group on 14 points ahead of Paris Saint-Germain who surprisingly played 2-2 at home to Ludogorets.
PSG finished second on 12 points.
It is the first time Arsenal will finish top of a Champions League group since the 2011/2012 season.
At the Etihad, Kelechi Iheanacho got Manchester City’s only goal in their 1-1 home draw against Celtic in Group C.
City had already qualified for the second round of the Champions League, finishing second behind Barcelona.
Patrick Roberts gave Celtic the lead in the fourth minute before Iheanacho equalised for City on eight minutes.
It is Iheanacho’s second Champions League goal this season.
In other results, in Group B, Napoli beat Benfica 2-1 in Portugal but both teams advance into the next round; Bayern Munich who finished second in Group D, beat leaders Atletico Madrid 1-0, PSV were held to a 0-0 draw by Rostov and Dynamo Kyiv thrashed Besiktas 6-0.
