
LAGOS STATE SET TO REWARD OUTSTANDING TEACHERS, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS
The Lagos State Government plans to present cars as prizes to deserving teachers and school officials at the second Teachers’ Merit Award ceremony, which is slated for Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
The Ministry of Education organized the event to recognize and honor the enthusiasm and commitment of the best public school teachers in the state.
The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Administration created the Annual Education Merit Awards as a way to recognize and encourage teachers who give their all to improving the quality of teaching and learning.
The Chairperson Association of Private Educators in Nigeria oversaw the selection and nomination of teachers for the award. Mrs. Funke Fowler-Amba, Mrs. Abisola Obasanya, Mrs. Sherifat Atinuke Ogboye, Mrs. Yinka Ogunde, Miss. Oyindamola Egbeyemi, and Mr. Idris Adetutu are the other committee members.
3,529 applicants were vetted by the committee members, who were largely private school administrators with a mix of technocrats from the public sector. 22 semi-finalists were chosen, and they will fight for 12 automobiles as part of the 2021 award for exceptional teachers.
