
2023 ELECTION: LAGOS STATE DECLARES WORK-FREE DAY FOR CIVIL SERVANTS TO REGISTER, COLLECT PVC
The Lagos State Government has granted four work-free days to various types of public employees in order to encourage state employees to register for or obtain their Permanent Voters Card in advance of the 2023 general elections.
The state’s head of service, stated in a statement that the goal of this action by the state government is to make sure that employees are encouraged to exercise their civil rights.
Remember that just seven million of the more than fifteen million people in Lagos have registered for PVC, according to current information from the Independent National Electoral Commission.
While grade levels 02, 04, 08, and 13 will register on Wednesday, July 27, staff in grades 1, 3, 7, and 15 will have the day off on Tuesday, July 26.
Staff in grade levels 05, 09, 12, and 17 may register on Thursday, July 28. Staff in levels 06, 10, 14, and 16 may register on Friday, July 29.
As a result, all public employees who have not yet registered or picked up their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) from authorized INEC Centers are urged to do so before the deadline of July 30, 2022.
To accomplish this, Mr. Governor graciously granted public employees a day off from work to process or collect their PVC from their respective local governments/local council development areas. this exercise, officers are expected to report back to work with their voters’ cards.
