13 KILLED, THREE INJURED AS MINI BUS CRASHES INTO TRUCK IN CHINA

At least 13 people have been confirmed dead after a minibus collided with a truck on a highway in central China, according to local traffic police authorities.

The fatal accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday in Henan Province near the city of Nanyang, which has a population of about nine million residents.

Police said the minibus crashed into the truck along the G40 expressway, a major highway connecting the eastern Chinese city of Shanghai with Shaanxi Province in northern China.

Authorities disclosed that 16 people were travelling in the minibus at the time of the accident, despite the vehicle being licensed to carry only nine passengers.

Three other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were reportedly receiving treatment.

Officials have yet to provide details on the exact cause of the crash.

China’s Ministry of Public Security has reportedly dispatched a working group to investigate the incident and determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
