Premier League Round 3: Surprise Package Bournemouth Look To Maintain 100 Per Cent Start To Season

The Cherries have made a bright start to the campaign and host Everton this weekend
There has been a lot of talk about the strengths of Manchester City and Liverpool at the start of this new Premier League season, but flying under the radar right now is Bournemouth. With two wins in as many games and four goals scored, Bournemouth will look to continue their bright start when Everton come to town this coming Saturday afternoon (25 August).
Having finished 12th last season, Bournemouth and Eddie Howe looking like they could be aiming even higher over the coming months. They have maximum points so far, having comfortably beaten newly promoted Cardiff 2-0 at home before an excellent 2-1 victory away to West Ham last time out.
Everton, by way of comparison, are also unbeaten this so far, this season, but have not looked as convincing as Bournemouth, collecting four points from their two outings. First, they let the lead slip twice against Wolves to draw 2-2 before they opened a two goal lead over Southampton only for their defensive frailties to allow Southampton back into the contest.
And we could well see a high scoring game here, with 11 of Bournemouth’s last 15 games seeing at least three goals, while the six previous meetings between these two sides have produced 25 goals at an average of 4.16 goals per game. And with home advantage it is Bournemouth who come into this game as slight favourites to take the points at 2.60, with Everton only just further out at 2.75, according to Oddsshark.
Bournemouth are unbeaten in all three of their previous home Premier League matches against Everton. A 2-1 win for the Cherries is priced competitively at 11.00, offering more than a ten-fold return on any investment, while you can back over 2.5 goals in the game at 1.72 and both teams to score at just 1.57 – this one could be a match to remember.
Fulham and Burnley both looking for first league win of season
Two sides in need of a kick start to their season re Fulham and Burnley, who meet at Craven Cottage this Sunday afternoon. Fulham came up through the play-offs and after investing heavily in their squad over the summer have lost both of their opening games this season.
Burnley, meanwhile, have one point on the board but surprisingly lost at home to Watford last time out. However, the Lancashire club have an excellent recent record against Fulham, winning four and drawing three of the last eight games between the two sides, while losing just once.
This is another match that could produce goals. Seven of the last nine games between Fulham and Burnley have produced more than 2.5 goals, and fans could be treated to some real entertainment in west London.
With home advantage, Fulham come into the game as the slight favourites to get their first league win of the campaign. You can double your money by backing the Londoners to take the points at 2.00, with visitors Burnley out at 4.00.
However, it is Burnley who have the Premier League experience and they look good value for an away win. A narrow 1-0 win for the visitors is priced at 11.00, again offering more than a ten-fold return on any investment.
United look to ease early pressure
Manchester United came into the season as one of the favourites to challenge for the Premier League title, but manager Jose Mourinho already finds himself under pressure following a 3-2 defeat away to Brighton last time out. They now welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford on Monday night in desperate need of three points.
Spurs’ recent record at United is woeful, having lost all four of their most recent league encounters t the stadium. Tottenham have made a 100 per cent start to the season but may well come unstuck at United.
And it is the Red Devils who come into the game as slight favourites to take all three points. You can back United to victory at 2.50, while Spurs are only just behind them at 2.80 – a 1-0 win for the visitors is priced competitively at 9.50.
