HAZARD COMES OFF THE BENCH TO KNOCK OUT LIVERPOOL OUT OF THE CARABAO CUP
By Joseph Omoniyi
Chelsea playmaker came in as a substitution to score the winning goal for the club and made sure they advanced to the next round of The Carabao cup, seeing off arch-rival, Liverpool in a dramatic game that ended 2-1.
Liverpool drew the first blood in the 58th minute with Sturridge putting the reds ahead in the second half. Chelsea’s left back, Emerson Palmieri, pulled the blues on level in the 79th minute.
Eden Hazard who came in as a substitute for William in the 56th minute scored the winning goal for the London club with a beautiful goal one minute before the stoppage time.
However, Chelsea and Liverpool are far from done as the two teams still have scores to settle this weekend, as they battle at the Stanford Bridge in the Premiere League.
