INEC CHAIRMAN INSISTS BALLOT BOX SNATCHERS WILL BE PUNISHED ‘ACCORDING TO LAW’

Following a statement made by President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, that Ballot box snatchers will pay with their lives, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmoud Yakubu has stated that offenders will be punished only according to the provision of the constitution.
Yakubu while responding to a question during media briefing on Tuesday, assured that anyone found perpetrating electoral violence during the voting process will be dealt with according to the law, as against the President assertion of death punishment.
