SANWO-OLU INTERACTS WITH LAGOS PUBLIC SERVANTS, EMPHASISED “THEME LAGOS”

The All Progressive Congress, APC governorship candidates Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu with his running mate Dr. Obafemi Hamzat on Thursday at the Adeyemi Bero auditorium in Alausa Lagos, held an interactive session with Lagos State Public Servants.

Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola in his welcome speech gave credit to the public servants for their presence at the meeting. He stressed that attending the meeting is not enough but going out on Election Day to perform their democratic duty for the candidates of their choice will be more than enough.

Sanwo-Olu while delivering his speech, appreciated the public servants for their massive turn out, said he was so delighted to have seen people who they started together in 2002 and are now permanent Secretaries and Commissioners in the state public service. He stressed that he and his running mate are completely overwhelmed and are grateful to the crowd who deem it necessary to be in the premises.

The governorship candidates, said the essence of the meeting is to intimate them with the commitment he has made to Lagosians on their behalf, which is an acronym, he called “THEME Lagos.”

Sanwo-Olu said the T. Stands for Traffic Management and Transportation, which implies that all roads that leads to every area in Lagos will be made accessible through the support of all Traffic engineers which include Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA. He said other means of Transportation such as Rails, Water and Air will be optimised.

H – Health and Environment, denotes that his administration will upgrade and effectively use Primary Health Centers to make medical facilities available to everyone.

On environment, he said waste management issues will be solved right from our kitchens through the provision of different bags for different wastes, so that those who are interested in Waste to Wealth management will find it convenient to access them.

E – Education and Technology will begins with regular Teacher training, early education will also be encouraged as children are better trained within ages 0 – 10, curriculum review will be done in the education system so has to discover new skills that is necessary to enhance employability. Technology will be included as it is obvious that will are now in technology age. Hence, while on the campaign train we provided Free Sanwo Wifi, the same thing will be done in every school,

He said, Sanwo Wifi is already available in Ikeja Mall, Festac Mall, Surulere, Lagos State University LASU, Lagos State Polytechnic LASPOTECH, Wifi will also be provided in Alausa we will only ensure that they are use appropriately.

Security will also be associated with it, with this every child will be provided with a unique ID which will help to curtail the menace of some parents changing the school of their Child after owing the school authority first, second term fee and then run to another school to complete the third term. With this development, wherever such students go, their profile will be conveniently track.

M – Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, it is basically designed for the private sector which will also benefit everyone. It include Power, Housing, Security and Infrastructure.

With Lagos signing a bill that will ensure that Eko Electric Distribution Company and Ikeja Electric Distribution Company provide prepaid meter to every resident, an end will come to estimated bill finally. State Policing will be enhanced as the present administration has started with Lagos State Neigbourhood Security Corps, LNSC through the provision of mechanised bicycles.

E – Entertainment and Tourism, Sanwo-Olu said it will be boosted to create employment opportunities for the teeming number of youths who are unemployed. His administration will boosts renowned tourist spots such as Afrikan Shrine, Lekki Leisure Lake, Tarwa Bay, Kalakuta Museum, National Museum to mention a few.

To the Lagos State public servants, he promised to enhance their welfare through the provision and maintenance of Staff buses, regular local and international training will be encouraged, through the collaboration of Head of service.

Sanwo-Olu also said as it was done in 2010 that Lagos State was the first to pay the minimum wage, the same thing will repeat itself this time around, and that his government will be a government of continuity, he will not abandon any project the present administration has stated. That his government will not be an exclusive government but an inclusive one, which will listen to the clamour of the public servants and that of Lagosians as well.

Jim Benson and Ajiun Yakubu Balogun, representing Lagos Island, APC Chairman Lagos state chapter Alhaji Tunde Balogun,  Former Permanent Secretary Engr. Bamigbose Martins, APC Treasurer Lagos state chapter Rebekah Ajose, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission Chairman and Former Head of Service Alhaji Babatunde Sotinwa, to mention a few.
