NIGERIANS SMELL ‘MARKETING GIMMICKS’ IN JOSHUA’S HUMILIATING DEFEAT TO RUIZ

Nigerians have continued to express their disappointment after former IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua lost all of his belts in a shocking defeat to Mexican born, Andy Ruiz.
The Nigerian born Joshua was given a round 7 technical knockout by Ruiz in a fight many have referred to as awful.
After the match that went down at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden, Joshua went home with a whopping £20M as against Ruiz £5M, which is reported to be his largest career take home.
Nigerians reacting to the humiliating defeat, believe the manner Joshua lost the bout is suspicious and may be a marketing stunt.

“Something was wrong with AJ from the beginning the blows weren’t that hard .im suspecting foul play honestly.”
“AJ just was falling as if he was beaten by charm
I tell u, the falls were not convincing. There is a script being run in that match. What we have seen is the business side of boxing.”
“With this short video, I saw AJ should just fire his trainer immediately. How can you move close to a short fat man? All he needed to do was to just keep the guy at arms length, continuously give him jabs till the game is over. No need to prove skills or come for knockout against such a robust and short opponent. AJ has himself to blame because he opened up too much for the guy. Coming to Yankee to fight for the first time doesn’t necessarily mean you must win your opponent by KO.”
