Joseph Omoniyi
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have become the first team to qualify for the last 16 in the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON, after they defeated Guinea 1-nil in their second game of the preliminary stage.
73 minute goal by defender, Kenneth Omeruo who also doubled as man of the match, broke the deadlock after the Guineans held the Super Eagles to a goalless first half.
With the win, Nigeria remain at the top of Group B with six points.
They play their last game against Madagascar, which would be just a formalty.
