In order to assess the needs of the force on the scene, the administration of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund paid an operational visit to the Lagos State Police Command.

The Lagos State Command Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc, welcomed the delegation and outlined some of the most important operational and welfare requirements for the command’s officers and men.

CP Adepoju Ilori, in charge of Police Accounts and Budget, Force Headquarters, Abuja, spoke on behalf of IGP Suleiman Abba (Rtd), chairman of the Police Trust Fund, and explained that the visit is a fact-finding one. He provided assurances that the Nigeria Police Force, working in coordination with the Police Trust Fund, has designated funding for and is still identifying priority projects that will increase productivity in the force.

CP Ilori added that after the projects are approved, actual construction, refurbishment, and procurement will start.

The Nigeria Police Trust Fund Act was enacted on June 24, 2019, and it is intended to improve the overall way that the Nigeria Police Force carries out its duties, train new officers, and fulfill other objectives related to or incidental to achieving the Force’s missions.
