UPDATE: RCCG BREAKS SILENCE ON ALLEGED MEETING WITH TINUBU

Read Time:1 Minute, 17 Second

A debunking statement from the Redeemed Christian Church of God refutes a rumored meeting between Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the church’s general overseer, and Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.

Contrary to rumors, according to RCCG, Tinubu and Pastor Adeboye never spoke about a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

Recall that over the weekend, a national daily, reported that Tinubu had claimed Adeboye.

Debunking the claim, the church’s Public Relations Office, in a statement on Tuesday, noted that such a meeting did not hold.

The statement reads, “It has come to our notice that some new outlets are reporting that a meeting between Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide and former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, was held a few days back at the Redemption Camp where our esteemed father in the Lord was said to have supported the preferred candidature of the party the former governor.

“Pastor E.A. Adeboye and RCCG have not and will not endorse any candidate for the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.”

The church issued a warning to news organizations not to propagate false material about Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the RCCG since doing so violates the norms and ethics of journalism and will result in legal action if it occurs again.

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, did not hold any closed-door meeting with Mr. Bola Tinubu for support of any form,” the church continued on its official Instagram page.
