The Ekiti South chapter of the All Progressives Congress has endorsed the Senate spokesman, Adeyemi Adaramodu, as its consensus candidate for the 2027 senatorial election.
The decision was contained in a letter and minutes of a stakeholders’ meeting released to journalists in Abuja on Saturday.
Adaramodu, who chairs the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, currently represents Ekiti South in the Nigerian Senate.
The endorsement letter was addressed to the Ekiti State APC chairman and members of the State Executive Council and was jointly signed by the Senatorial District Chairman, Akindele Olusola, along with other party leaders and executives.

According to the stakeholders, the decision followed extensive consultations with party members across wards and local government areas within the district.
They explained that the move aligns with the party’s directive encouraging consensus candidacy where feasible.
In the letter, the stakeholders stated that Adaramodu emerged as the agreed candidate during a meeting held on April 13, 2026, at the senatorial office on Moshood Road, with unanimous support.
They added that his selection reflects the will of party members and is aimed at ensuring unity, stability, and electoral success for the APC in the district.
The group further urged the state party leadership to formalise his candidacy and take the necessary steps to ratify the endorsement.
Adaramodu, who previously served in the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023, was elected to the Senate in 2023 after defeating former senator Biodun Olujimi.
