Obasanjo delivered the commendation at a vibrant ceremony held at the Ile Oodua Palace in Ife, which attracted several prominent political and traditional figures, including Governors, former governors, lawmakers, and respected royal fathers from across the country.

A statement from the Ooni’s Palace media office, signed by Moses Olafare, noted that Obasanjo also praised the monarch for using the throne to foster unity and cultural development across Nigeria.
He further congratulated Mrs Amosun, describing her as a woman of compassion, virtue, and strong philanthropic values.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs Amosun expressed gratitude to God and the Ooni for the honour, pledging to uphold the legacy of Moremi Ajasoro and serve humanity with humility, dedication, and integrity.
She described the title as a call to greater responsibility rather than a ceremonial recognition, adding that she would remain committed to community service and positive impact.
Speaking at the event, Seyi Makinde emphasized the importance of unity among Yoruba leaders regardless of political affiliation, noting that such cohesion was vital for the progress of Yorubaland.
The Ooni, while speaking, praised Mrs Amosun as a woman whose life reflects the values of Moremi Ajasoro, urging her to continue promoting cultural heritage, unity, and service to humanity.
