Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has stated that no final decision has been made regarding his political future or that of his supporters amid growing speculation about possible political realignments.

In a statement posted on his X account on Saturday, the African Democratic Congress chieftain acknowledged ongoing consultations with leaders of the National Democratic Congress and the Peoples Redemption Party.

Kwankwaso said reports suggesting an imminent shift within the ADC were misleading, stressing that neither he nor his political associates had reached a conclusive decision.

He explained that the recent Supreme Court ruling, which upheld the legitimacy of the David Mark-led National Working Committee while returning aspects of the dispute to the High Court, had left the party in an uncertain situation.

According to him, the situation was further complicated by a Federal High Court ruling that nullified the party’s recent convention, as well as a move by the Attorney General of the Federation seeking the deregistration of the ADC.

Kwankwaso noted that the legal challenges facing the ADC were similar to those that earlier prompted him and his allies to leave the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

He said consultations were now ongoing with various political stakeholders to determine the most suitable course of action for protecting their democratic interests, adding that a formal decision would be announced in due course.

On the 2027 presidential election, Kwankwaso clarified that he had neither declared interest in contesting nor endorsed any aspirant.

He recalled participating in the 2014 APC presidential primary won by Muhammadu Buhari and later supporting him, as well as contesting the 2019 PDP presidential primary before backing Atiku Abubakar.

Kwankwaso maintained that the ADC had not yet zoned its presidential ticket or selected a candidate, describing ongoing speculations as premature.

He also explained that his absence from recent ADC stakeholders’ meetings was due to personal commitments, which he had already communicated to the party leadership.

Kwankwaso assured supporters that any future political decision would be officially communicated through the appropriate channels.
