CHELSEA VS TOTTENHAM: CONTE, TUCHEL SENT OFF AFTER LATE HARRY KANE’S EQUALIZER IN 2-2 DRAW

Read Time:1 Minute, 6 Second

In a heated 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte were both dismissed due to outbursts after Harry Kane’s late equaliser gave Tottenham the unlikeliest of points.

Conte and Tuchel, who had already been cautioned for a physical incident following Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s first equaliser for Spurs in the 68th minute, exchanged blows after Kane headed in a second equaliser for a below-par Spurs team in the 96th minute.

This notoriously fiery derby on a blistering hot day in the capital spilled over in the most fascinating of endings, forcing the managers to be separated before being given red cards.

After a commanding first half performance, Kalidou Koulibaly’s thunderous volley in the19th minute gave Chelsea a deserving lead. However, Spurs managed to stay in the game and equalised when Hojbjerg’s drilled strike punished Jorginho’s blunder in the penalty area.

Conte’s exuberant celebration outside of his technical area angered Tuchel and the Chelsea boss responded when Reece James’ 77th effort restored the hosts’ lead, streaking past the forlorn Italian and down the touchline in to celebrate with the Chelsea fans.

Kane’s dramatic injury-time equaliser ignited the final showdown between the coaches as Chelsea was only seconds away from securing consecutive Premier League victories under Tuchel, who initially appeared to have the last laugh.
