Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, received the most votes (421, 390) in the recently concluded presidential elections in Jigawa State.

Former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party candidate Atiku Abubakar finished in second with 386,587 votes.

The collation officer for the 2023 presidential election in Jigawa State, Prof. Arma-Ya’u Hamisu Bichi of the Federal University Dutsinma in Katsina State, announced the results, saying the poll was peaceful and the contestants received the following votes.

He stated that the overall number of registered voters is 2,341,441, the total number of votes accredited is 961,670, and the total number of votes cast is 954,805.

Prof. Bichi announced the scores by each party as follows: APC polled 421,390; LP polled 1,889; NNPP 98,234, while PDP polled 386,587 votes.

He then announced the total valid votes as 920,531, rejected
