
ADAMAWA STATE RELAXES CURFEW IN 17 LGAs

Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has reduced the curfew in 17 of the state’s 21 Local Government Areas.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Fintiri imposed the curfew on the affected regions following the plunder of government warehouses by unidentified hoodlums on Sunday.
The action is stated in a statement released by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, in Yola on Tuesday and made available to journalists.
However, the statement stated that the curfew would remain in effect in Yola-North, Yola-South, Girei, and Numan from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day until further notice.
”Security operatives will, therefore, remain in the affected councils to enforce the new directive with a view to further maintain law and order,” the governor added.
Acxording to him, the new directive follows the return of peace and advice of the state security council.
