
BREAKING: AIRCRAFT CRASHES ON OBA AKRAN ROAD, IKEJA, LAGOS (VIDEO)
An aircraft has crashed on the busy Oba Alram Road, Ikeja, Lagos.
The aircraft immediately bursted into flames.
Initial information making the rounds is that the mini-aircraft that is being assembled in Nigeria. It was not clear whether the aircraft was making a test flight as at the time of the crash.
Tunji Oketunbi, the spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), confirmed the development to on Tuesday afternoon.
In addition, an official with the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said that the airplane caught fire when the incident occurred.
According to LASEMA, four people were on board the ill-fated helicopter, including the pilot, and they were all recovered alive and transferred to a local hospital.
The event was also confirmed by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
NEMA Zonal Coordinator for the South-West, Ibrahim Farinloye, stated on the Agency’s official WhatsApp channel that while the name of the helicopter’s operator was unknown, passengers onboard were all retrieved alive.
First responders from NEMA, LASEMA, and the NSIB have arrived on the spot.
