GOMBE POLICE PROBE MURDER OF 58-YEAR-OLD WOMAN

Aishatu Abdullahi, 58, was allegedly killed by unidentified individuals on Friday. The Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Hayatu Usman, has directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, to personally investigate her death.

According to our source, the attackers reportedly broke into the late Abdullahi’s home at Jekadafari Quarters and took her phone before running away.

The late Abdullahi was discovered in a pool of her own blood, according to a press release issued by the command’s public relations officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar. He added that after receiving the information, agents went to the spot.

Abubakar said, “She was immediately rushed to the Specialist Hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead.”

The police offered the family their condolences and promised to use every resource at their disposal to identify and apprehend those responsible.

“The command has launched a full-scale investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible for the brutal murder.

“The command extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of Aishatu Abdullahi and we want to assure the public that we are doing everything possible to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime and bring them to justice. We urge anyone with information that could lead us in our investigation to come forward and give us the information.”

“The command is urging residents to remain calm and vigilant and to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the police,” the statement read in part.
