
#BAYELSA DECIDES 2023: INEC TO CONTINUE COLLATION BY 3 PM
The Independent National Electoral Commission has postponed the tallying of the results from the November 11, 2023, Bayelsa State Governorship Elections.
Following the compilation of results from three of the state’s eight local government areas—Klobuma/Opokuma, Ogbia, and Yenegoa—the adjournment was made. The local government areas that remain include Southern Ijaw, Brass, Ekeremor, Nembe, and Sagbama.
The exercise was postponed until 3 p.m. today by Prof. Faruq Kuta, the vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and the state returning officer.
Results from the remaining local government regions are anticipated, according to the returning officer.
The People’s Democratic Party’s Governor, Duoye Diri, has emerged victorious in all three local government elections thus far.
