
BREAKING: INEC DECLARES DUOYE DIRI AS WINNER OF BAYELSA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Peoples Democratic Candidate Duoye Diri, winner of the just concluded Governorship Election in Bayelsa State.
In a hotly contested campaign in the oil-rich state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate defeated Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
With 175,196 votes overall, Diri—who took office in 2020—bested Sylva with 110,108 votes. According to the numbers, the PDP leader received 65,088 more votes than his nearest opponent.
With a total score of 905, the Labour Party (LP) finished in a distant third place.
