
JUST IN: SENATE CONFIRMS PROF. TUNJI OLAOPA AS CHAIRMAN OF FCSC
Professor Tunji Olaopa’s nomination to lead the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) was approved by the Senate on Tuesday.
eleven additional candidates for appointments to the commission, including the red chamber.
The clearance follows the upper legislative house’s consideration of a report submitted by Sen. Oluwole Fasuyi Cyril, a senator from the Ekiti North senatorial district who chairs the Committee on Establishment and Public Service Matters.
The members include:
Dr. Dauda Ibrahim Jalo – representing Adamawa/Gombe/Taraba
Obong Ededet Eyoma – representing Akwa-Ibom/Cross River
Dr. Chamberlain Nwele – representing Anambra/Ebonyi/Enugu
Rufus N. Godwins – representing Bayelsa/Delta/Rivers
Dr. Adamu Hussien – Rep. FCT/Niger
Aminu Nabegu – representing Jigawa/Kano
Hindatu Abdullahi – representing Kaduna / Katsina
Shehu Aliyu – representing Kebbi/Sokoto/Zamfara
Odekunle Rukivat Aduke – representing Kogi/Kwara
Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan – representing Lagos/Ogun
Dr. Festus Oyebade – representing Osun/Oyo.
Olaopa and eleven other people were named by President Bola Tinubu last month to oversee the nation’s civil service beginning on November 30, 2023.
In order to promote growth rather than impede it, the President anticipates that the new administration will “competently facilitate the transformation, reorientation, and digitization of the Federal Bureaucracy.”
