
SGBV: LAGOS DSVA TAKES DOOR-TO-DOOR ENGAGEMENT TO KOSOFE COMMUNITIES
In a bid to kick Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) out of every nook and cranny of Lagos State, two Community Development Associations (CDAs), Aminu CDA and Ifelodun, within Agboyi Ketu, Kosofe Community were visited by the Advocacy Team of DSVA to further propagate the door-to-door engagement of the Agency.
The Executive Secretary of DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi stressed that the Agency was targeting to reach One Million residents in the State with the Door-to-door engagement to further spread the SGBV message.
According to her, the Door-to-door engagement was conceived to ensure the SGBV message is inculcated by all residents in the State to support the government in the fight to eradicate the menace in Lagos State. It was also to ensure that residents in the State report cases of sexual or domestic violence as soon as it occurs in their areas.
The DSVA team was received by the representative of the CDA Chairman of Aminu, Engr. Badejo and Mr. Lateef Sogunro as well as the representative of the CDA Chairman of Ifelodun, Mr. Olafimihan respectively. Through their assistance, the Agency was able to reach different streets, schools and churches within the communities.
Over 2, 800 people were engaged while flyers and educational materials were distributed and posters hung at strategic locations within the communities for further publicity.
