AGORO ASSURES ASSOCIATION OF LAGOS STATE CIVIL SERVANTS WITH DISABILITIES OF GOVERNMENT’S  SUPPORT

Lagos State Head of Service (HOS), Mr. Bode Agoro has assured Pensons Living With Disabilities in the State Public Service of the support of government in making life better and conducive for them.

Agoro stated this today in his office at Alausa, Ikeja, when he received members of the Association of Lagos State Civil Servants with Disabilities who paid him a courtesy visit.

He maintained that since its inception, it has been the policy of the State Government to cater for the welfare and well-being of the entire workforce, saying that people with disabilities were not left out as they are special people.

“The State Government is doing all it can, to ensure that there is preferential treatment for people with disabilities to be at par with other public servants”, he said.

Agoro reaffirmed that people with disabilities will not be left out in the area of Staff training,  welfare and other incentives that would be beneficial to public servants in the State.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Lukman Salami expressed his appreciation on behalf of the Association to the Head of Service for being resilient in tackling all welfare related issues of staff in the State.

He stated that the Association remains grateful to the State for the enactment of the Lagos State Special Peoples Law 2010, as well as the establishment of the Lagos State Office of Disability Affairs (LASODA).

Government officials present during the visit include the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs. ‘Sunkanmi Oyegbola and her counterpart in the Civil Service Commission, Mr. Bode Obadina.

Members of the visiting team include the Vice Chairman, Lagos State Association of  Civil Servants With Disabilities, Mr. Batula Olasehindemi; the Secretary, Mr. Ademiluyi Adebowale; Assistant Secretary, Mr. Babatunde Safiu and the Publicity Secretary, Mr. Sanusi Hakeem.
