UPDATE: FCCPC STORMS CHINESE SUPERMARKET OVER CLAIMS OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST NIGERIANS
Arriving at the China General Chamber of Commerce, an Abuja-based Chinese supermarket, is the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
Nigerians had earlier on Sunday expressed their displeasure over a Chinese supermarket’s discriminatory policy, which prohibited Nigerians and restricted admission to its citizens only.
Nigerians from outside the complex do not shop there, but Nigerians who live there have access to it, according to Shaibu Sanusi, the property manager of the complex.
The consumer protection agency seems to think that some customers are hiding inside the supermarket while it is still closed in an attempt to avoid conflict with them.
