The Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement has organised a two-day training programme aimed at enhancing Resolvers’ proficiency in Customer Relations Management (CRM), formulation and adherence to Service Level Agreement (SLA) and the utilisation of the newly upgraded Citizensgate Application Version 2.0.

The event was held at the OPL&CE Conference Room Alausa-Ikeja on Tuesday and at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry Conference & Exhibition Centre (LCCIC) Alausa-Ikeja, on Wednesday.

Highlighting the role of the Resolvers on the functionalities of the Citizensgate App, the Special Adviser to Mr Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen said the training is to further equip the Resolvers with hands-on instructions on navigating the enhanced features of Citizensgate Application Version 2.0, empowering them to leverage its full potentials in streamlining communication, tracking requests, and facilitating feedback to citizens.

Dr. Tajudeen, represented by the Permanent Secretary (OPL& CE), Engr. Abiola Kosegbe, added that the training represents a pivotal step in the ongoing efforts of the Lagos State Government to optimise citizens’ engagement, elevate service delivery standards and bring dividends of good governance even to the grassroots level.

“As Public Officers, part of our job is to ensure the overall citizens’ satisfaction, especially for MDAs that regularly interface with the people, because as public servants, we are called to serve and we must demonstrate our unwavering commitment to serving Lagosians by marketing the platform as we ought to and must take ownership of it”, he averred.

While advising the Resolvers to maximise the training opportunity, Kosegbe said the workshop will be carried out regularly, and as new MDAs are boarded on the platform, Resolvers will be brought up to speed to enhance transparency, responsiveness and dedication to the citizen’s engagement course.

Commending the dedication of the Resolvers so far, Afolabi revealed that the Office may introduce an Award System for the best responsive MDA, to further encourage the Resolvers.

Speaking on the features of the App, the Special Adviser said that plans are being put in place to enhance the platform with a voice recognition system, especially for those who are not technologically compliant, so that they can also call or text and reach any MDA they wish to communicate with.

Speaking in the same vein, one of the Consultants of the Citizensgate project Mr. Bayo Sholagbade of Prepaygo Consultancy said the Lagos State CitizensGate 2.0 is a platform that acts as a bridge between the state and her citizens in accessing the services of the government, while the Resolvers are the gate-keepers for CitizensGate 2.0 in their respective MDAs.

He therefore enjoined the Resolvers to take ownership of the platform and be committed.

Participants at the event were exposed to the intricacies of CRM strategies,  SLA principles, and overview & review of the Citizensgate 2.0 Application. The sessions were facilitated by Messrs Olatokunbo Macaulay, Instant Projects and Micheal Chizoba, Consultant from AppliStructure.

Presently, 95 MDAs have been onboarded on the Citizensgate platform, while the Citizensgate App is available via Google Play Store for download. Citizensgate is also accessible on citizensgate.lagosstate.gov.ng and through various social media handles including Facebook, Lagos Citizens Gate; X, @Citizensgate; Instagram, @LagosCitizensGate and on TikTok, @LagosCitizensGate.
