GUARDIOLA BEHIND BAYERN’S APPOINTMENT OF KOMPANY AS MANAGER – RUMMENIGGE
Former Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is playing a key role in Bayern Munich’s appointment of Vincent Kompany as manager.
Kompany’s appointment was announced today by the German giants after both parties have agreed on a deal.
Speaking with Sky Deutschland, Rummenigge said: “Bayern, after eleven victories in a row in the league, failed to win this year, the domestic season wasn’t too good, we finished third. In In the Champions League, however, we reached the semi-final and went out in a somewhat unfortunate way against Real Madrid: a shame, an all-German final against Borussia Dortmund would have been interesting
“Our sporting director has chosen Kompany, there are final details to sort out but in the end he will arrive.
“We talked about him with Guardiola and he spoke very well about him, Pep gave us a hand.”
