COURT ACQUITS FORMER LAGOS SPEAKER IKUFORIJI OF MONEY LAUNDERING CHARGE
Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, who had earlier given Egwuaba a fiat authorizing him to prosecute the matter, withdrew the fiat and gave him instructions to withdraw the charge, Egwuaba told the court.
As a result, Egwuaba filed an application to drop the accusation, to which Chris Uche, the defense attorney, did not object.
But Uche’s request for the charge to be dropped was denied by Justice Oba, who decided to strike the charge.
