BREAKING: VERYDARKMAN RELEASED HOURS AFTER ARREST BY POLICE FOR DEFAMATION
Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, a social media influencer and blogger, who was arrested by the police earlier today (Sunday), has been been released.
It was learnt that VeryDarkMan was released about a couple of hours after his arrest.
The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory Command, Mr Benneth Igwe, confirmed his release on Sunday evening.
His lawyer, Mr. Deji Adeyanju earlier on Sunday disclosed that his client had again been arrested, adding that VeryDarkMan was apprehended for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad.
In a post on his X account on Sunday, Adeyanju said, “Our client, @thatverydarkman has just been arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad.
“Instead of the police to arrest the person alleged to have duped someone, they arrested VDM on allegation of defamation.”
