The Sand Dump is a well-liked hangout for students to hang out and socialise. Born into the Obrigbene village in the Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Palowei was scheduled to receive his diploma on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, the day of the university’s next convocation.

POLICE DETAIN TWO SUSPECTS OVER DEATH OF VIGILANTE MEMBER

According to information obtained, members of the Nigeria Police Force visited the neighbourhood and began looking for the offenders.

While the shock of the crime has caused some students to skip classes, the majority of students have continued to attend.

According to one source who begged to remain anonymous, students at the university have also joined the hunt for the perpetrators.

Indoni Engezi, the institution’s public relations officer, verified the event and said that because “the university is a different community,” it had no bearing on academic operations.

According to Engezi, the problem was affecting the Amassoma host community, and the police were already handling it.

“The owner of the sand dump does not charge any fees for using the premises, but some youths usually charge N150 from anyone who wants to use the premises”, he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Musa Mohammed, said the Commissioner of Police, Francis Idu, had deployed additional manpower to the community to maintain the peace.

Mohammed added that a manhunt had been started by the police for the murderers.
