CHELSEA REIGNITE INTEREST IN MONTPELLIER, WAHI
Chelsea have reignited their interest in Elye Wahi after a failed bid to bring the 22-year-old -old striker to Stamford Bridge last summer.
The Premier League west London club are keen to bolster their new manager Enzo Maresca’s squad this summer transfer window ahead of the new 2024/25 season.
Chelsea made a £24m bid for Wahi when he was at Montpellier.
But their offer was rejected and instead, the player moved to Lens in August last year.
However, according to L’Equipe, there is the possibility that Wahi could leave Lens this summer with Chelsea still keen on bringing him to England.
The report added that Maresca’s side is yet to make an offer for the player’s signature but has approached Lens and asked about his availability and what price could convince them to sell the French star.
