NSCDC TIGHTENS SECURITY IN KWARA AHEAD NATIONWIDE PROTEST
The Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has warned those who may seek to exploit the planned nationwide protest for criminal activities and cause unrest to steer clear of the state.
In a statement by the command’s public relations officer, Ayoola Michael, on behalf of the commandant, Dr. Umar Mohammed, the NSCDC boss said that the command is on red alert, with robust measures in place to ensure law and order are upheld before, during, and after the protest.
According to the commandant, the command would not fold its hands and watch hoodlums wreak havoc and vandalise critical national assets and infrastructure, adding that adequate deployment would be made across the state to ensure watertight security of life and property.
While acknowledging the citizens’ right to protest, he urged the youth and other concerned citizens to lawfully and peacefully express their grievances, ensuring that national security and public safety are not compromised.
