There is relative calm at the Freedom Park, Ojota, the designated venue of the hunger protest in Lagos.
Protesters and their coordinators could be seen conducting themselves in orderly manner with no threat to lives and property.
A large contingent of security operatives are also present to maintain law and order.
While speaking with newsmen, the state Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade assured protesters of their safety.
