The Lagos State Police Command has rolled out comprehensive security measures across the state to ensure a peaceful and safe Eid-el-Kabir celebration in 2025.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, announced the deployment of various tactical and conventional police units across strategic locations, including worship centers, Eid grounds, recreational facilities, highways, and black spots.
The deployment includes units from the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Rapid Response Squad, Anti-Bomb Squad, Special Protection Unit, K9 Units, and Police Mounted Troops, among others. The EKO Strike Force and other tactical teams have also been mobilized to enhance operational efficiency.
CP Jimoh stated that the operation aims to provide robust protection for all Lagosians, including Muslim faithful and non-Muslim residents, throughout the Sallah celebrations and beyond. “Our goal is to guarantee safety, maintain law and order, and instill public confidence during this sacred period,” he said.
The Commissioner emphasized that officers must conduct their duties professionally, courteously, and within the confines of the law, urging Lagosians to cooperate with security personnel. “Any miscreants attempting to cause unrest will face the full weight of the law,” he warned.
