OBASA ENDORSES HAMZAT FOR LAGOS GOVERNORSHIP, URGES APC UNITY

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has thrown his weight behind the governorship ambition of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat.
Obasa made the declaration on Thursday when Hamzat visited his official residence in Ikeja as part of ongoing consultations with leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Commending Hamzat’s performance in office, the Speaker described him as a loyal party member with a strong track record in infrastructure development, urging party faithful to support his aspiration.
“I just returned from Abuja, and the conversation remains the same – Dr Obafemi Hamzat is the next Governor of Lagos State,” Obasa said.
“You have demonstrated unquestionable loyalty to our great party and even greater competence in serving Lagos. We love you, we support you, and we will do everything to ensure that we win the election,” he added.
In his response, Hamzat thanked the Speaker for the endorsement, acknowledging his legislative experience and political influence.
He emphasised that his consultations are focused on strengthening governance and ensuring continuity in the state.
“Lagos is a collective project. My consultations are not about personal ambition but about ensuring continuity, innovation, and inclusive development for our people,” Hamzat said.
