Ahead of the November 16 governorship election, chieftains and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akoko South West Local Government Area have patched things up.

The leaders predicted a resounding win in the region for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Dr. Olayide Adelami, his running mate.

Before the polls, they promised to collaborate while pushing party members to start organizing at the grassroots level in order to elect Governor Aiyedatiwa.

To mobilize voters to polling places, the leaders of the Akoko Southwest APC advised local members to adopt a collaborative mindset.

They addressed a larger gathering of APC stakeholders at the council’s headquarters, Ọkà Àkókó.

APC members were encouraged to embrace teamwork by Hon. Victor Olabintan, the chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

According to him, every contender who ran against Aiyedatiwa disintegrated their organization in order to back Aiyedatiwa.

In an effort to garner a sizable number of votes in the area, members were urged to continue supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa by Akogun Olugbenga Omole, Special Advisor to the Governor of Ondo State on Transportation.

“This is a meeting of the local government,” he remarked. Akoko Southwest has the most wards (15 total), making it the largest administratively. Our purpose in being here is to explain to our people why they ought to keep on supporting Aiyedatiwa. The state of Ondo is calm.

“We will be having regular Ward meetings ahead of the election. We are going to have massive support to Aiyedatiwa.

“This is the bedrock of the APC in Ondo State. Leaders from other camps are here. The party is going to have massive support in this local government.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy, Engr. Johnson Alabi, tasked all ward chairmen to mobilize their wards for the party’s success at the polls.
