
UPDATE: TROOPS NEUTRALISE TERRORIST, RECOVER WEAPONS IN KADUNA
The 1st Division Nigerian Army’s clearance operations in the Sabon Birni, Dogon Dawa, Maidaro, Ngede Alpha, and Rafin Kaji areas of Kaduna State resulted in the capture of a bandit and the recovery of weapons.
According to reports, several more bandits fled with gunshot wounds.
According to Lt. Colonel Musa Yahaya, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, the troops recovered four AK-47 magazines (three fully loaded with a total of 60 x 7.62mm Special ammunition and one empty magazine), a PKT belt with 86 rounds of ammunition, two motorcycles (one of which was destroyed), a Techno mobile phone, a Baofeng handheld radio, and an Airtel recharge card worth N5,000.
He noted that the General Officer Commanding, 1 Division, and Commander of Operation WHIRL PUNCH, Major General Mayirenso Lander Saraso, thanked the people of Kaduna, Kano, Niger, and Jigawa states for their ongoing support.
He urged people to use the Division’s Toll Free Line, ‘0800 002 0204’, to provide actionable intelligence and information that will help the division and other security agencies start offensive operations against criminal elements.
The GOC congratulated the troops on a successful operation and entrusted them with redoubling their efforts and making life as difficult as possible for all terrorists and their accomplices in the division’s area of responsibility.
