FIRE RAZES SHOP AT ITAMAGA PLANK MARKET IN LAGOS
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has reported a fire at the Itamaga Plank Market in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Nosa Okunbor, the agency’s Head of Public Affairs Unit, stated on Wednesday that it got distress calls and quickly activated its Lion Squad from the Agbowa Base.
When we arrived at the market about 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday, we saw that one of the shops had caught fire.
However, following a comprehensive examination, the agency determined that the fire was caused by a power surge.
“The prompt intervention and coordinated efforts of the LRT and LASG Fire & Rescue Service ensured the fire was contained and quickly subdued,” the statement read in part.
