
URBAN RENEWAL: PMO TEAM VISITS LASURA

The purpose of the tour, which was headed by Mrs. Adetutu Ososanya, Permanent Secretary of PMO, was to assess LASURA’s advancement and pinpoint areas in need of development in order to better fit with the urban renewal goal of the Lagos State government.
When the team arrived, Tpl. Animashun Oladimeji, General Manager of LASURA, gave a summary of the organization’s contribution to fulfilling Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda objectives.
He outlined the main goal of LASURA, which is to eliminate slums by 5% every year throughout the state, highlighting the significance of both the resettlement of displaced people and sustainable urban regeneration.
Tpl. Animashun suggested creating an internal task force at LASURA in order to improve revenue creation and streamline operations, both of which would assist urban redevelopment programs even more.

She praised LASURA’s efforts and acknowledged the difficulties it faced, emphasizing the need for ongoing cooperation to raise operational efficacy and financial transparency.
Innovative approaches to slum redevelopment and reduction were also discussed during the visit, in line with the state’s overarching goal of giving citizens better access to sustainable and habitable environments.
The visit highlights the state’s commitment to urban development and emphasizes how crucial interagency cooperation is to achieving Lagos’ long-term developmental goals.
