Florence Otedola, often known as DJ Cuppy, is the first British-Nigerian to host the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

During the weekend, the daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola and founder of the Cuppy Foundation anchored the session titled “The Summit of the Future—Youth Action Day,” marking a key milestone in her career.

In an Instagram post, she stated that she has been a DJ at the UNGA twice, but the most exciting thing she has ever done is provide the opening session of the 79th UNGA.

“It is so wonderful to be here. It is actually my second time DJing at the United Nations so I must be doing something right…I would not be standing here if not for my education and I may not seem that cool right now may be due to a couple of youth delegates. But I’ve made some pretty lady moves in my career.

“I’ve interned for Jay Zee, I’ve been on the Forbes 30 under 30 twice, and filmed MTV cribs but the coolest thing I’ve done by far is speaking to all of you today.”

She also talked about her passion for education and how she has been able to achieve three degrees at the age of 30. She also hinted at the completion of her PhD thesis.

“I value education so much that at 30, I have three university degrees one of them perhaps the most difficult being from New York University (NYU) right here in this city and let’s just say I might have completed my thesis.
