VDM FIRES BACK N1 BILLION COUNTER LAWSUIT AT BOBRISKY

In retaliation against social media star Bobrisky, controversial activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, received a threat of a N1 billion defamation lawsuit.

Bobrisky’s legal team sent a legal notice earlier on Sunday, alleging that VeryDarkMan had released an AI-generated audio with the intention of damaging Bobrisky’s reputation.

Within 24 hours, the letter sought an apology and public retraction.

VeryDarkMan responded by posting on Instagram, saying that the audio in question was a WhatsApp chat that he had received from a person Bobrisky had supposedly gotten in touch with.

He questioned Bobrisky’s abrupt shift in attitude, bringing up the fact that the famous person had earlier admitted to having suicide thoughts.

In addition, VeryDarkMan joked that he would countersue Bobrisky for N1,000,000,020, adding N20 for his own benefit.

Additionally, the activist issued a warning that several parties’ integrity will be jeopardised by the protracted legal dispute.

“Bobrisky, didn’t you say you wanted to ‘end it all’? Now, suddenly, you’ve found the strength to sue me. In this case, many will exchange their credibility for my publicity, as always. I will make them regret this,” VeryDarkMan said in his post.

He also raised questions about a past incident involving a N3 million payment Bobrisky allegedly failed to make after attempting to collect the sum from rapper Falz.

The activist expressed confidence, saying, “I can stand for myself anywhere. Bobrisky sued me for N1 billion, but I’ll make a mockery of it with N1,000,000,020 and a N20 gain.”

The feud between the two escalated last Tuesday after VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording, purportedly of Bobrisky, in which the crossdresser allegedly claimed to have bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission with N15 million to drop charges against her.

The recording also suggested that Bobrisky’s “godfather,” alongside Haliru Nababa, the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for her to serve a six-month prison sentence in a private apartment rather than a correctional facility. Bobrisky, whose real name is Idris Okuneye, was reportedly released from prison on August 5 after being convicted for abusing the naira in April.

Reacting to the claims, Bobrisky dismissed the audio as fake, insisting that she never paid any bribe to the EFCC.

Her denial came after the EFCC summoned both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan over the bribery allegations involving its officials. The anti-graft agency’s chairman, Ola Olukoyede, also ordered an immediate investigation into the claims.

Bobrisky had earlier revealed that she was battling suicidal thoughts before the lawsuit drama unfolded.
