NIGERIAN ACTOR, JIDE AWOBONA TEASES NEW MOVIE RELEASE AS FILMING WRAPS UP IN UK
Nollywood star, Jide Awobona has sent fans into a frenzy with a glimpse into his upcoming film project, which features a surprising scenes shot at Assington Autos scrapyard near Sudbury, UK.
The Nigerian actor, however, didn’t give too many details about the production of the movie.
Awobona, however, revealed that the yet to be released movie is a cross-culture film and it is a story about a Nigerian who travels to the UK due to the problems his father was having back home.
“It is an envision of comedy, gangsta and tradegy. It is going to have a strong emotional appeal and people can connect with the film.
“Being in Suffolk was a very nice experience and it was the first time I have ever filmed in a scrapyard and I have never seen anything like it before.
“Most people wouldn’t allow people to come and record a film but it shows they (Assington Autos) really understand the value of movie production and how we are trying to tell a story, so I really give kudos to the owners of the scrapyard and especially Daniel Collins the operations and communications manager.
“The audience will really enjoy it,” he added.
Awobona, who is best known for his role in Jenifa’s Diary, a Nigerian sitcom, said the team at Assington Autos were very accommodating and helpful with the production of the film.
Although, no release date has been issued for the film, which is being produced by Wanzami Entertainment, Awobona, however, said that the crew are currently in the post-production stage of editing the film and is hoping more information will be released by the end of the year.
