The Kano State Hisbah Board has prohibited all types of sports betting in the state.

Dr. Mujaheed Aminuddeen, the board’s Deputy Commander-General, announced this during a press briefing on the Hisbah’s intensified endeavour to combat immoral behaviour.

He stated that the Hisbah has relaunched ‘operation flush out immorality’ and that its operators will soon crack down on individuals and groups who violate the state’s social order.

He stated that in order to restore sanity and discipline in the state, the Hisbah would arrest any landlord who rented out an apartment to an unknown person(s), citing the increasing number of cases of residential houses being utilised as lodges and motels throughout the city.

He claimed that the board had issued new courtship guidelines and that no potential couples would be permitted to sit in tinted automobiles during courtship, particularly at night.

He emphasised that, while street begging is illegal, female beggars who remained outside late into the night would also face arrest.

Dr. Mujaheed further stated that the Hisbah is troubled by the rising rate of prostitution among young girls and warned that any lady found on a tricycle after 10 p.m. would be detained.

He warned the public against breaking any of the regulations, which he said would result in heavy penalties.

He urged parents to keep a close eye on their children, particularly girls, and to prevent them from engaging in any wrongdoing that could result in a violation of any of the rules in place throughout the state.
