YOUNG TOWN PLANNERS URGED TO ADOPT GLOBAL BEST PRACTICES

The General Manager of Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA) TPL. ESV. Animashaun Oladimeji has emphasised the importance of professionalism and ethics in town planning, urging young Town Planners to uphold the highest standards in their work.

Animashaun gave the advice at the Young Planners Forum, Lagos State Chapter’s Week and Annual Meeting held between the 8th and 10th of October, 2024.

He stated that young Town Planners can enhance public trust, promote sustainable development, and contribute to better urban management by embracing this principle.

The General Manager also encouraged them to know and master all the ethics of their profession, be proactive and think big about the incredible impact they can have on urban development and community growth by embracing new technologies to unlock their full potential which will contribute to shaping Lagos into a sustainable, resilient and liveable mega city for generations to come.

Speaking further, the General Manager said gratification should not take priority over professionalism as Town Planners are noble professionals, and the integrity of the profession must be sustained along the lines of their career. “Don’t run after money, be professional; all other things will come to you”, he advised.
